The Jean Monnet Scholarship Program Information Meeting, organized by the Sivas Cumhuriyet University Erasmus+ Institutional Coordination Office, was held in the Keykavus Hall of the 4 September Cultural Center with the active participation of academics and students.
The opening speech of the event was given by the Vice Rector, Prof. Dr. Süleyman Değirmen. In his speech, Prof. Dr. Değirmen drew attention to our university's internationalization vision and stated the following:
“As the Erasmus+ Institutional Coordinator, which serves as our university's gateway to the world, we are carrying out many important activities in line with our institution's internationalization goals. The Erasmus+ program is at the forefront of these activities; however, our aim is not limited to this. We want to inform our students about various international education and development opportunities and encourage them to take advantage of these experiences.”
Emphasizing that international experiences are a significant turning point in individuals' personal and academic development, Prof. Dr. Değirmen said, “International experience is a very valuable process that enriches a person's life, broadens their horizons, and transforms them. In an era where intercultural interaction is so intense, these kinds of programs are a great opportunity for our students.”.
At the meeting, Yeliz Turan, EU Expert at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, gave a comprehensive presentation on the Jean Monnet Scholarship Program. Turan shared detailed information about the program's purpose, application requirements, and evaluation process.
