Our university operates with the aim of developing internationalization policies, strengthening national and international academic collaborations, coordinating exchange programs, and conducting mobility processes within an institutional framework.

Our office coordinates the University's international academic collaborations and exchange programs, reporting directly to the Rector's Office.

The International Relations Office operates in the areas of managing student and staff mobility, developing inter-institutional agreements, supporting academic collaborations, and coordinating international education programs.
The office houses the Erasmus+, Bologna, Mevlana, and Farabi Institutional Coordination Offices; it also coordinates inter-university memoranda of understanding, other national and international exchange programs, and academic mobility activities.
The aim is to enhance the University's international visibility and collaboration capacity by ensuring communication and coordination between students, academic and administrative staff, and partner institutions both domestically and internationally.
We are taking international collaborations towards a sustainable future.
Our primary goal as the Sivas Cumhuriyet University International Relations Office is to increase the international visibility of our university in the fields of education, research, and community service, to strengthen academic collaborations, and to support our students' and staff's access to international experiences.
We are developing the relationships our University has established with higher education institutions in different parts of the world through national and international exchange programs, primarily Erasmus+, bilateral agreements, joint projects and academic networks, in a sustainable and results-oriented manner.
We prioritize transparency, equality, accessibility, and institutional quality in our mobility processes; and we value contributing to our students' and staff's effective integration into international academic environments.
We will continue to combine our university's rich academic expertise with international partnerships, fostering mutual learning between different cultures and education systems.
The Office's Main Areas of Activity
The coordination and responsibility areas of the International Relations Office consist of the following institutional headings.
Erasmus+ Institutional Coordinator
Student and staff mobility, inter-institutional agreements, Erasmus+ projects, and related institutional processes.
Bologna Institutional Coordinator
The Bologna Process involves the coordination of program information packages, qualifications, transparency, and academic recognition initiatives.
Mevlana Institutional Coordinator
Student and faculty exchange activities between higher education institutions in Türkiye and abroad.
Farabi Institutional Coordinator
Coordination of student and faculty exchange programs among higher education institutions in Türkiye.
Bilateral Agreements and Memorandums of Understanding
Agreements that establish a framework for academic cooperation, joint activities, and mobility with higher education institutions abroad.
National and International Programs
Orhun, SEMP, IAESTE, Turing Scheme, Free Mover and other international academic mobility models.
International Student Coordination Office
The International Student Coordination Office is a separate unit operating outside the International Relations Office. International student admissions, applications, and registration processes are handled by this coordination office.

Establishment of the Rectorate's External Relations Unit
In accordance with the letter dated January 24, 2003, from the State Planning Organization of the Prime Ministry, the Rectorate's External Relations Unit was established by the decision No. 4 of the Cumhuriyet University Senate dated June 11, 2003.

Establishment and Development Process
To carry out the function of the European Union Sixth Framework Programme (FP6) “Institutional Contact Point” and to coordinate our University’s FP6 activities, which is the European Union Education Programme. “"Socrates"” and included under this main program “Erasmus, Comenius, Grundtvig, Lingua” In accordance with the letter dated January 24, 2003, numbered 19-243, from the Prime Ministry State Planning Organization, in order to promote and coordinate sub-programs such as these, and thus ensure that our University benefits from these programs at the highest level and to inform the teaching staff, Resolution No. 4 of the Senate of Cumhuriyet University dated 11.06.2003 with “"Rectorate of External Relations Unit"” It has been established.
Established in 2003, the Unit consists of various subcommittees under the coordination of the Vice Rector. Particularly responsible for coordinating the Erasmus program, a student-faculty exchange program under the EU Education Programme Socrates, and the EU 6th Framework Programme (FP6), to ensure that our university's students and faculty benefit more effectively from these programs, the division of responsibilities within this unit is as follows: “"Corporate Contact Point"” It was created under the name [name].
Cumhuriyet University applied to the European Union Commission on October 30, 2003, to participate in the Socrates-Erasmus Program. “"Erasmus University Charter"” The university applied for the Erasmus University Charter (EUC). Participation in this program, which aimed at student and academic exchange between EU member and candidate countries during the 2004-2005, 2005-2006, and 2006-2007 academic years, required approval of the EUC application by the European Union Commission as a prerequisite.
Our country's full participation in the European Union Education and Youth Programmes is the subject of an agreement between the European Union Commission and the Government of the Republic of Türkiye. The Memorandum of Understanding, published in the Official Gazette on May 8, 2004, entered into force. It was announced that this had taken place; as a result, the higher education institutions that received the Erasmus University Charter were announced by the Commission on May 17, 2004. In that year, following applications from 73 out of 82 higher education institutions, 65 higher education institutions, including Cumhuriyet University, were entitled to receive the Erasmus University Charter.
Cumhuriyet University has carried out activities to develop cooperation with universities and institutions in Turkey and abroad through the Farabi and Mevlana student and faculty exchange programs, to coordinate joint projects and training programs, to coordinate processes related to all projects supported by the European Union and training programs such as Erasmus+, Comenius, Leonardo da Vinci, Grundtvig and Youth, and to increase academic activities at national and international levels.
In relation to these studies, the Republic University National and International Relations Units Coordination Directive, prepared to regulate the duties and working principles of the National and International Relations Units Coordination Office, Approved by the Senate of Cumhuriyet University on July 23, 2014..Within this framework, the working methods and organs of the External Relations Unit, which is affiliated with the National and International Relations Units Coordination Office of the Rectorate of Cumhuriyet University, and the Erasmus+, Bologna, Mevlana and Farabi Institutional Coordination Offices have been determined.
By the decision of the Sivas Cumhuriyet University Senate dated 01.08.2018 The "Cumhuriyet University National and International Relations Units Coordination Directive" has been abolished and replaced with the "Sivas Cumhuriyet University International Relations Office Directive," and the unit's name has been updated to "International Relations Office.".
The International Relations Office operates directly under the Rectorate and houses four coordinating offices: the Erasmus+ Institutional Coordination Office, the Bologna Institutional Coordination Office, the Mevlana Institutional Coordination Office, and the Farabi Institutional Coordination Office. The office also coordinates mobility programs under inter-university memoranda of understanding and other exchange programs. The International Student Coordination Office is a separate unit and does not operate within the International Relations Office.
